Privacy policy
This page covers this website. It is not our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is the separate HIPAA document we give to every patient at admission and which governs your health information.
This site is not a place to send medical information
Ability Hospice runs this website to explain who we are and how to reach us. It is not a patient portal. There is no login, no medical records, and no form on this site that asks for clinical information.
Please do not send medical details, diagnoses, medication lists, or insurance identifiers through this website or by email. Email is not a secure channel and we do not treat it as one. Referrals and any clinical information should come by phone at (409) 203-7477 or by secure fax at (409) 203-7742.
What this site collects
This is a static website. We do not set advertising cookies, we do not run third-party analytics or tracking pixels, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which typically include the IP address of the device making a request, the time of the request, the page requested, and the browser's user agent. That is ordinary infrastructure logging used to serve and secure the site. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page opens. That request is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to outside organizations, such as the federal Office for Civil Rights. Once you follow a link off this site, that organization's privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes
If what this site collects changes, for example if we add a contact form or analytics, this page gets updated before that change goes live.
